Minister of Labour and Social Security Joyce Simukoko has challenged employers across the Country to prioritize health and safety of workers to reduce Occupational injuries and deaths at work places.
Mrs. Simukoko says employers should not look at the health and safety of employees as an expense but rather a preventive measure to reducing occupational injuries and deaths at work places.
She was speaking in Kitwe today at the workers compensation fund control board vision zero stakeholders workshop.
vision zero is a campaign that aims to ensure injuries and fatalities at work places are reduced to Zero by the year 2030.
And Workers compensation fund control board chief executive officer Elizabeth Nkumbula said her organisation will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure occupational accidents and deaths are eliminated through promoting work safety standards.
