Human Resources and Administration

The department is responsible for managing and developing human resources in order to improve performance. The department is also responsible for the provision of administrative and logistical support in order to facilitate the effective operations of the ministry. The department has the following units;

  • Administration Unit
  • Human Resource Management and Development Unit
  • Accounts Unit
  • Procurement and Supplies Unit
  • Internal Audit Unit

Functions

  • Interpret and disseminate terms and conditions of service
  • Undertake staff welfare programmes including the coordination of HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness
  • Co-ordinate the institutionalization of the performance management package
  • Staff discipline
  • Ensure proper and safe storage and retrieval of records
  • Provide secretarial services
  • Human resource management and development
  • Manage the establishment and payroll of the ministry
  • Ensure occupational health and safety is maintained
