Labour inspectors conducted an inspection at the upcoming Kalene Fruit Company Limited, commonly known as Mwinilunga Cannery Industry in Mwinilunga District. The team was led by the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Harrison Kaunda.
This was a follow-up inspection with 38 employees (21 males and 17 females) in full PPE as recommended during the first inspection which revealed that workers were found without proper work suit.
Kalene fruit company limited is under IDC and it is putting up a cannery industry that will be producing a number of products such as dried pineapples, drinks, canned beans, tomato paste and so many others.
