Zambia’s Productivity Ecosystem Workshop

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) is spearheading a transformative effort to design a Productivity Ecosystem for Decent Work Programme.

Zambia has faced persistent socio-economic challenges, including low productivity levels across sectors. This programme aims to:

National stakeholders will:

  • Review findings from the Rapid Sector Assessment Report.
  • Validate assessment findings to ensure accuracy and alignment.
  • Prioritize subsectors with the highest potential for productivity and employment growth.
  • Lay the groundwork for a holistic approach to economic transformation.

Welcome and Introductions: Led by Cyprian Mayamba (Director of Productivity Department, MLSS) and Jens Dyring Christensen (ILO Senior Specialist).

Findings Presentation: Delivered by experts Professor Manenga Ndulo (SAIPAR) and Dr. Gibson Chigumira (ZEPARI).

Plenary Discussions: Guided by Yvonne Nawila, Chief Productivity and Quality Improvement at MLSS.
